Since March 4, a total of 211 individuals have had their Kuwaiti citizenship revoked.

Currently, the Supreme Committee for Citizenship is examining cases related to forged documents and dual nationalities. Each case undergoes a thorough review before any decision on citizenship withdrawal is made.

These cases include various categories such as counterfeit documents, fraud, deception in obtaining citizenship, and holding dual nationalities.

Moreover, scrutiny extends to non-Kuwaiti women who married Kuwaitis solely to gain citizenship, subsequently divorcing shortly after naturalisation.

In instances involving dual nationality, individuals are faced with the choice of either renouncing their Kuwaiti citizenship or retaining it.

The Ministry of Interior’s hotline has received 407 reports of fraudulent cases and dual nationalities.

These reports are currently undergoing careful investigation to confirm suspicions before being presented to the Supreme Committee for Citizenship for further action.

Decisions regarding citizenship withdrawal adhere to relevant decrees and the directives of the Supreme Committee for Citizenship.
