The meteorological department confirmed the cyclone’s approach toward the coastline.
Reports of heavy rainfall and strong winds emerged from the coastal areas of Mtwara and Lindi, with forecasts indicating potential impact on Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s commercial hub.
Authorities issued warnings urging residents to exercise caution as the cyclone’s intensity escalates.
Additionally, the weather service highlighted higher-than-normal rainfall levels along the coast.
The Tanzania Red Cross Society has been actively engaged in preparedness campaigns in the region.
In recent weeks, Tanzania, along with much of East Africa, has faced heavy rains and flooding.
These adverse weather conditions have resulted in 155 fatalities and affected over 200,000 individuals.
