Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, assistant coach, Kabiru Alausa vowed that his side will not relegate and continue to push for survival.
Alausa disclosed this on Sunday after Abia Warriors forced 3SC to a 2-2 draw in a match day 35 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Alausa said the outcome of the match was not good for Oluyole Warriors but assured their fans of a better result against Rangers come on Sunday.
He said “We dropped two points today but we are still optimistic about getting it before the close of the season. We cannot really point our mistake out, we scored two goals and they equalised. Though our boys trying their best was not enough, I can assure our fans we will definitely get the points we lose today.
“I still believe anything is still possible, so far we can go to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi and pick a point, anything can still go outside and put a surprise. We will not relent until the last minute.”
Also, one of the goalscorers for Wikki Tourists, Valentine said the draw is like three points for them having travelled far to Ibadan.
“I’m very happy and feel relief for this result and our long journey worth it.”
Lucky Emmanuel opened the scoring for the Oluyole Warriors through a spot kick after Yeo Chacool handed a ball inside the 18-yard box before Olatunji made it 2-0 in the 35th minute.
Odinaka Anaeto set up a cross for Valentine Udoh and headed past goalkeeper Dede Dare of 3SC in the 42nd minute and Godwin Obaje restored hope for the away team in the 70th minute to make it 2-2.
3SC are currently on the 16th on the log of the NPFL from 35 games.
