Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will visit three African countries this week to rally support for Kyiv’s war in its conflict with Russia, his ministry announced on Sunday.

In his fourth diplomatic tour to Africa in the past two years, Kuleba will visit Malawi, Zambia, and Mauritius from August 4-8, according to a ministry statement.

“The meetings will focus on strengthening bilateral relations based on mutual respect and interests.

“Key topics will include African states’ participation in global efforts to restore a just peace for Ukraine and the world,” the statement added.

A number of African countries took part in a conferenceon Ukraine hosted by Switzerland in June but they have mostly been reluctant to join Western efforts to isolate Russia, an important supplier of energy and commodities.

Additionally, the ministry stated that Kuleba’s tour will include discussions on the supply of Ukrainian grain to Africa and the involvement of African companies in Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts.

These tour aim to address both immediate needs and long-term cooperation between Ukraine and African nations.
