The UAE has dispatched vital aid supplies to Chad in support of Sudanese refugees ahead of Ramadan, as reported by the state news agency Wam on Monday.
The aid is aimed at assisting disadvantaged families during the holy month.
Included in the parcels are five tonnes of Ramadan dates, 50 solar-powered light bulbs for the Uri Kasuni camp and its five schools, as well as household items and kitchen utensils provided by the Zayed Foundation.

Sudanese refugees have sought shelter in the neighboring central African country since conflict erupted in their homeland in April last year.
Ahead of Ramadan, Jassim Al Naqbi, a representative of the Emirates Red Crescent, underscored the organization’s intensified humanitarian efforts to support families in need.
He highlighted ERC’s collaboration with the Red Cross of Chad to assess the needs in villages, towns, and Sudanese refugee camps in Umm Jars.

Ramadan, being the holiest and most significant month for Muslims, is characterized by fasting and prayer.
As part of an ongoing campaign, the ERC team distributed 1,000 school bags from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation to students at Nuwar Mixed Basic School in the Uri Kasuni camp, located in the Karyari area in Umm Jars.
This initiative aims to provide essential school supplies to five schools in the camp for the academic year. In total, 7,500 bags have been distributed since the start of the academic year, demonstrating a sustained effort to support education in the region.
