Two people lost their lives and their bodies burnt after they stormed a funeral harambee in Mombasa.
According to a police report dated February 9th, a group of nine suspects armed with pangas and crude weapons stormed the funeral gathering and attacked mourners.The suspects reportedly attacked one resident and allegedly stole various items, including a laptop, musical instruments, phones, and cash intended for the funeral expenses, among other valuables.

During the raid, the suspects also destroyed three vehicles.
Following the incident, reports indicate that a mob pursued the suspects, resulting in the death of two individuals who were subsequently burned beyond recognition.
The incident was reported and categorized as malicious damages. Police officers visited the scenes and confirmed that two bodies were burnt beyond recognition,” stated the police report.
Police said that the bodies of the two suspects were transported to the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary, where they awaiting autopsy.
