Former FIFA World Player of the Year, Fabio Cannavaro, has predicted that Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, could land at Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United in the summer.
Osimhen has been on the wishlist of several European clubs after scoring 26 goals in the Serie A last season to win the Golden Boot ahead of Inter’s Lautaro Martinez.
His goal scoring prowess also helped Napoli to win their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
Italian football expert, Enrico Varriale, believes the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner is worth €200million, adding he is at par with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland at the moment.
According to the 2006 World Cup winner, Osimhen who netted 31 goals in 39 games across all competitions last season, remains the first choice if the Red Devils or PSG decide to acquire a player in the Serie A.
At the the time of this report, Osimhen, who has two years left on his contract has not signed a two-year extension at the Partenopeans.
“Surely clubs like Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) or Manchester United – the ones that need a centre forward the most – if they decide to take a player from Italy, they will.
“These are the forces in the market, no use deluding ourselves. De Laurentiis has correct business concepts and organisationally he has proven himself.”
He has succeeded in making the fans understand that one can also change while remaining competitive,” Cannavaro told La Gazzetta dello Sport via Foot Italia.
