The All Progressives Congress (APC), has debunked the rumour doing the rounds that the President-Elect, Ashiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, has been flown abroad for medical treatment, saying Tinubu is hale and hearty.
Lately, the media has been awash with news that Tinubu had been flown to the United Kingdom for medical attention arising from his ill-health.
The development is coming shortly after the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi had filed a petition at the election tribunal, challenging the outcome of the presidential election held on February 25 that produced Tinubu as the winner.
However, a statement by Tunde Rahman, spokesperson for Tinubu, on Wednesday, said the president-elect who left the country on Tuesday, would observe Umrah (Lesser Hajj) in Saudi Arabia.
“The president-elect decided to take a break after the hectic campaign activities to rest in Paris and London, preparatory to going to the Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj), and the Ramadan fasting that began on Thursday,” Rahman said.
According to Rahman, Tinubu would soon be back to the country.
The president-elect’s frequent travels overseas have been generating speculations about the state of his health.
