Terrorists have kidnapped another 87 villagers in a fresh attack in Kaduna, northern Nigeria.
The terrorists invaded the Kajuru-Station community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State around 10:30 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2024.
During the attack, they also invaded shops and looted food items.
A resident, who is a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, Harisu Dari, confirmed the incident to The Punch on Monday in Kaduna State.
Harisu explained that no contact has been established yet with the 87 locals abducted on Sunday night.
“As of the time I visited the community this morning, security operatives have not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers.
“The villagers are traumatic with the sad development. The government needs to re-strategise in tackling these terrorists,” he said.
This fresh attack in Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas has increased the total number of abductions in the past two weeks to over 172. Concerns are growing as these areas become focal points for terrorist activities.
These brazen attacks underscore the persistent security challenges confronting residents in Kaduna State. The delayed response from security forces only intensifies the fear and frustration among the affected communities.
