Sudanese security authorities have issued an order for all foreigners to evacuate the capital Khartoum and its surrounding areas within two weeks, as announced by the police department responsible for foreign affairs.

The directive advises foreigners to depart immediately due to ongoing clashes between government forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, with safety concerns cited as the primary reason.

Reports indicate escalating hostility towards foreigners, particularly those from other African nations, amidst allegations of foreign mercenaries within the RSF ranks.

Two weeks ago, over 150 foreigners without valid residency documents were detained.

Sudan has been engulfed in a violent power struggle for over a year between de facto leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his former deputy Mohammed Hamdan Daglo.

The conflict, according to the UN, has displaced nearly 10 million people and exacerbated the risk of famine in the country.

International aid workers and diplomats initially based in Khartoum have relocated to Port Sudan, where conditions are relatively stable, following the outbreak of hostilities.
