Slovakia grapples with over 1,100 bomb threats targeting schools, banks, and other institutions, sparking countrywide evacuations as police launch a terror probe.
Deputy Chief of Police Rastislav Polakovic declared the incidents as potential acts of terrorism, with threats flooding in via email since early Tuesday morning.
Nearly 1,000 threats targeted schools, while over 100 were directed at banks.
Authorities are conducting thorough security checks and actively seeking the perpetrators.
Perpetrators could face life imprisonment for their actions. Spokesperson Lucia Forman confirmed bomb threats in numerous schools under the Bratislava self-governing region, with swift evacuation measures implemented and law enforcement engaged in addressing the situation.
