The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) reported on Tuesday that sixteen individuals had lost their lives, and another 28 remain unaccounted for, following the capsizing of a boat carrying 77 people off the coast of Djibouti.
Among those aboard were children, according to IOM’s announcement on social media.
Their office in Djibouti is actively involved in assisting with rescue operations.
Two weeks prior, another tragic incident occurred off the Djibouti coast, resulting in the loss of at least 38 lives, including children, in a separate shipwreck.
