Peter Shalulile to Lead Namibia against Harambee Stars
The Brave Warriors head coach Collin Benjamin has named a strong squad led by Peter Shalulile for crucial 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Cameroon and Kenya.

Namibia’s head coach, Collin Benjamin, has announced a strong squad for the crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cameroon and Kenya. The Brave Warriors will face Cameroon away on September 7, followed by a home match against Kenya at Orlando Stadium on September 10.

Striker Peter Shalulile, who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns and has been in outstanding form in the South African Premier Division, will captain the team. His performance will be pivotal as Namibia aims to make a significant impact in these qualifiers.

The squad showcases a blend of experience and youthful talent, featuring several players from South Africa’s top league, enhancing the team’s competitive edge. Notable names include Loydt Kazapua from Sekhukhune FC and Deon Hotto of Orlando Pirates.

In discussing the squad selection, Benjamin emphasized the need for a competitive team and the importance of support from the Namibian nation and media. “We will consult with leadership and maintain an open-door policy,” he stated in a previous interview.

With a focus on unity and collaboration, Benjamin, who took over as head coach in June 2022, aims to build a successful national team. The defense includes Ivan Kamberipa from Orapa FC and Welwin Hanamub from Amazulu FC, providing a solid backline against the attacking prowess of Cameroon and Kenya.

The midfield boasts players like Aprocious Petrus of Cape Town City and Deon Hotto, offering both creativity and defensive strength. The inclusion of Kennedy Amutenya, currently unattached, highlights Benjamin’s belief in the player’s potential.

Versatile Erastus Kalula from Sekhukhune FC will also add depth to the attack alongside Shalulile.
