Pastor, native doctors collude to obtain lady’s head for money ritual

Pastor
Alleged Prophets and Traditional healers

The Commissioner of Police for the Ogun State Command, Abiodun Alamutu, disclosed that his command apprehended self-proclaimed prophets and traditional healers who were actively engaged in acquiring human heads and hands for money rituals.

This led to the tragic murder of a woman named Sulaimon Adijat.

The Commissioner of Police for the Ogun State Command, Abiodun Alamutu, provided the names of the suspects involved in the criminal activities as Asela, Oluwo Mandela, Oluwalolese, Akinwunmi Ifatosin, Jamiu Yusuf a.k.a Eri Mose, Agbai, and Alioneitouria.

During the briefing with journalists, the police commissioner stated that on January 9, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Onipanu Division received a report regarding the disappearance of Adijat, aged 35.

She had reportedly gone missing after being invited for a date by an individual named Azeez, residing at Ajegunle Road, Atan Ota.

The family informed the police that their attempts to locate her had been unsuccessful, and her mobile phone was switched off.

“Consequently, the Anti Kidnapping Unit of the Command was drafted to unravel the mystery behind her disappearance. The team embarked on a technical-based investigation which led to the arrest of seven suspects who participated actively in the abduction and eventual murder of the missing Adijat,” CP Alamutu stated.

According to the findings by the detectives, on November 19, 2023, Agbai and Alioneitouria contacted Oluwo Mandela to perform a money ritual known as ‘Oshole’, promising to yield N200 million within seven days.

Oluwo Mandela requested N800,000 as charges for the ritual. Subsequently, Oluwo Mandela reached out to Oluwalolese, a prophet, to help source female human body parts, including the head, breasts, private parts, and two wrists, for the ritual.

Oluwalolese then contacted Prophet Jamiu Yusuf, a.k.a. Eri Mose, who in turn connected with native doctor Asela in Atan Ota, Lagos State. Asela demanded N600,000 for the job, later reduced to N300,000 through negotiations with Oluwo Mandela.

To execute the plan, Asela enlisted the help of Azeez, a cultist who remains at large, to obtain human parts. Azeez lured Adijat on a date to a hotel in Atan Ota, where she was subsequently targeted.

Following her abduction, the lady was transported to Asela’s shrine in the Igbo Olomi area of Atan Ota, where she was subsequently killed and dismembered.

The body parts were then taken to Asela’s residence in Atan Ota, where Oluwo Mandela and Oluwalolese awaited their arrival to complete the ritual. Oluwo Mandela collected the body parts and burned them in an earthenware pot along with other ingredients until the following day.

Additionally, Oluwalolese played a role in sacrificing a ram to appease the spirit of the deceased during the ritual process, while he and Eri Mose also acquired some of the body parts.

“On January 10, 2024, Sheriff Agbai and Osojieahen Alioneitouria retrieved the supposed money ritual from Oluwo Mandela and returned to their base in Edo State.

“However, trouble ensued when Alioneitouria utilized the ritual as instructed by Oluwo Mandela, only to bitterly complain that it failed to produce the expected sum of N200 million within seven days, despite using it for three weeks.”

The police commissioner disclosed that a search was conducted at Asela’s shrine in Igbo Olomi, Atan Ota, on February 3. Recovered exhibits from the suspects included an axe, 10 female handbags, three earthenware pots, two sacks containing human parts and bones, a wooden box containing ritual ingredients, two gallons containing human parts, criminal charms, as well as the crown and staff of office belonging to Oba Isegun Zone One and Oluwo Madote of Ifo Zone, which belonged to Moses.

“A relative of the deceased also identified one of the recovered bags as belonging to late Adijat.”

The police boss further added that the apprehended suspects confessed to the crime and disclosed their individual roles. Saturday Tribune conducted interviews with the suspects, yielding the following excerpts:

Asela, a native doctor, stated: “I’m from Ifon in Ondo State but reside in Atan Ota. Aged 45, I inherited the practice from my paternal grandfather, who cared for the sick. I came to Atan to continue my trado-medical practice.”

Asela explained his arrest: “I was apprehended through intelligence gathering by detectives who obtained my link from Azeez.

“Oluwo Mandela, residing in Ifo, required human parts, and I was introduced to him by Prophet Eri Mose from Ijegun-Ikotun, Lagos State.”

He continued, “I contacted Azeez, who brought the human parts without disclosing their source. I paid him N150,000, of which he retained N20,000. I then provided the parts to Oluwo Mandela as requested.

“I am widely recognized as Oluwo Mandela, a native doctor hailing from Badagry, Lagos State, aged 42. I inherited this profession from my family, and though it’s my first time employing human parts for money rituals, I’ve been acquainted with the practice.

“My introduction to Asela occurred on January 9 through a mutual acquaintance, Pastor Peter Oluwalolese, whom I met on a WhatsApp platform meant for diverse interactions.

“When I expressed my need for human parts, Pastor Peter connected me with Asela, assuring assistance. Asela provided the required parts, which were subsequently processed into powder for ritual use. Regrettably, I received guidance on acquiring human parts for wealth through a Facebook account under the alias ‘T’ewe T’egbo.’ My arrest followed Asela’s apprehension by the police.

“Yusuf Jamiu, also known as Eri Mose in his prophetic role, received a request for human parts through Pastor Oluwalolese. Aware of Asela’s activities, Yusuf intended to keep a portion of the payment before transferring the rest to Asela. However, this plan led to his entanglement in the situation. Although he facilitated the connection, Yusuf did not benefit financially from the transaction.”

Pastor Oluwalolese, aged 48 and originating from Ondo Town but residing in Apata, Ibadan, Oyo State, confessed to his involvement in sourcing human parts for sale, acknowledging it as a grave mistake. Despite never using such methods himself, he was ensnared in the process through online associations. His regret deepened upon learning of the murder involved in obtaining the body parts.

CP Alamutu emphasized ongoing efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects, with those in custody awaiting court charges pending investigation completion.
