Over 492 evacuees from Gaza enter Egypt through Rafah border crossing
The Rafah border crossing opened on Wednesday to let people out of Gaza

During the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, the Rafah Border Crossing remains operational, with over 492 evacuees entering Egypt from Gaza on Friday, according to informed sources in the governorate.

Among them are 35 Palestinian patients, accompanied by 32 individuals, who were transferred from hospitals in the Gaza Strip to receive treatment in Egyptian hospitals across various locations.

Additionally, the group comprises 375 Palestinians with residency permits in Egypt and other countries, 50 Egyptians, and an unspecified number of foreign nationals.

The source highlighted Egypt’s ongoing support, having received over 4,000 injured and sick Gazans for treatment since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza in October, along with approximately 6,000 of their companions.

During the ongoing six-day break for Eid Al-Fitr in Egypt, the Rafah crossing has stayed open, facilitating the passage of around 29,000 Palestinians, foreign nationals, dual citizens, and approximately 7,000 Egyptians stranded in the Gaza Strip.

Despite the holiday, the crossing has remained operational to permit the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and facilitate the movement of individuals from Gaza to Egypt, including Palestinians, Egyptians, and foreigners.
