Arsenal delighted their fans on Sunday afternoon by comfortably defeating West Ham, thereby narrowing the gap in goal difference with Man City and remaining competitive in the title race.
Arsenal supporters have often had difficulties facing West Ham, but the 6-0 victory on Sunday served as a satisfying reward for overcoming the challenges posed by the Hammers in recent years.
Despite Arsenal’s dominant performance throughout the match, it wasn’t until just over half an hour into the game that they managed to break through, courtesy of a set-piece, West Ham appeared to lose their resolve and gave up trying to mount a comeback.
With Arsenal leading 4-0 at halftime, thousands of West Ham fans chose to leave the London Stadium. Those who stayed expressed their frustration by booing loudly.
Raya remained untested for the entire 90 minutes, and the victory was so commanding that Mikel Arteta even gave 15 minutes of playing time to Ethan Nwaneri.
Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Burnley on Saturday, providing ample time for Declan Rice to recover from the knock he sustained in the second half.
