Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu has charged the 169 commissioned Cadet Officers, who graduated from Police Academy Kano, to embrace ethics of modern policing and shun all forms of corruption.

The president’s message was delivered on Saturday by the vice president, Senator Kashim Shettima, during the Passing Out Parade of the 5th Regular Course Cadets, held at the Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano.

“You, by this noble institution you have passed through, have acquired academic advantage and must be ready to demonstrate this through discharged responsibilities without fair or favour, because the entire nation is your constituency, and you must not fail the teeming masses of this great nation.”

Stating that his administration would not relent in providing all the necessary support to the Academy, President Tinubu said the country has faith that the graduates who were trained both academically and professionally would positively impact the security architecture of the Nation.

“You must put the nation at heart and exhibit your constitutional responsibility with utmost dedication and commitment.

“Put in mind that Nigerians have high expectations of you; therefore, you should brace up to face the challenges ahead,” he added.

The 5th Regular Course Cadets are the latest graduates from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, who completed a six-year programme that prepared them to become future police officers in Nigeria.

The programme included academic and professional courses, as well as physical and moral training.

The cadets also gained skills and experience through various community service projects and field exercises.

The Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano is an institution that awards degrees and trains police officers in Nigeria academically and professionally.

The academy started in 1981 and became a university in 2012.

The academy has a strict selection process.

The academy is led by a commandant who is chosen by the Police Service Commission based on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police.
