President Muhammadu Buhari like a confused drowning swimmer and holding only to nothing but weightless straws, expressed it all through his National Security Adviser retired Major General Babagana Monguno, passed to the nation the decision of quarterly Security Council Meeting held Thursday January 30 2020 with the nation’s Security Chiefs at the Presidential Villa on the fearful and frightening currency national security situations the nation wallows in explaining that “We reviewed the current security situation, the opportunities and the challenges, and we arrived at the conclusion that we need collaboration with the larger Nigerian society to deal with the situation”
With the alarming notorious security challenges facing the nation like the highly embarrassing attack by infidels of Otuoke home of former President Goodluck Jonathan and killing of his security Aide; The inhuman, wicked and heinous killing of Rev Lawan Andimi Christian Association Chairman Adamawa State by Boko Haram animals; The infamous and notorious Boko –Haram insurgency master minded by the Devils incarnate; The recent killings of 80 innocents in Plateau State; The Ikirun Bank Robbery incident informing the Honourable Osun State High Court sentencing three to death by hanging, Three Robbery suspects killed in Police Shoot out and with 19 arrested in Benue; Lagos Chief Magistrate Court reminding 11 suspects over murder and Armed Robbery; An 82 year old Woman abducted by some suspected gunmen at Okeriota Ode aye in Okitipupa Ondo State; Nigerian Navy arresting 13 suspects and seizing 2035 Bags of smuggled Rice Ibaka, Mbo Local Govt. Council Area Akwa Ibom State; A 26 year old woman staging own kidnap in Ebute- Meta Lagos State; Suspected cultists causing pandemonium firing gunshots Wednesday 29 January 2020 at Sawmill Area of Ilorin kwara State during which one person died et al one can reasonably say and wisely conclude that the society from which Buhari will “need collaboration with the larger Nigerian society to deal with the situation” is better seen and appraised as chamber of horror.
For President Buhari to now suddenly wake up from his day dreaming to “express surprise at the level of insecurity across the nation under his watch” must explain to us that the ship of state is drifting aimlessly to end of no return. It behooves to say out loudly that if a retired four stars Military General could only lead the government with lame hands on the alarming security situations of this country and with more than three more years to go, what hope can we have as a people for the future of our children.
Ones best opinion addressing logically, sensibly and reasonably to finality the current ugly worsening security challenges horribly facing the nation may not be sacking in one fell swoop of the Service Chiefs, since those to replace them may after all be birds of same feathers, but to call for an urgent Convocation of NATIONAL SECURITY PARLEY to debate sincerely address how we got to where we are and how to get out of the mess.
