“Moroccan Fans Pointed Laser Lights At Our Players Eyes During Penalties”- NFF President

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, condemned the use of laser lights during the women’s soccer team’s loss against Morroco which led to their failure to qualify for the semi-final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.

Moroccan fans were disrupting the Atlanta Falcon’s play in a panty shootout at their stadium by directing laser lights toward the eyes, in Rabat, Morocco.

In addition to the ugly situation, the nine-time champions were reduced to 10 women after midfielders Halimat Ayinde and Rasheedat Ajibade received red cards during the clash.

In a statement by the Nigeria Football Federation, Pinnick complimented the Falcons for their valiant display despite being outmatched. While also condemning the laser lights directed at the players.

Pinnick said, “he was happy with the performance of the team and their approach to the game.”

“The Super Falcons gave their all and were truly fabulous. They had the ‘Nigeria spirit’ in them and showed a sense of patriotism, and refused to give up. Penalties are forever a lottery, so it could have gone either way. I commend the team for the outing.”

“The girls did a good job after being depleted and challenged by laser lights.” The girls fought through the crowd’s lasers to be successful. I am enamoured by their resilience and tenacity.”
