American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been caught on camera physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
Recall that Cassie, the estranged girlfriend of famous American rapper and music executive, Sean Combs, aka Diddy, had accused him of rape, and about a decade-long physical abuse.
The singer, who was formerly signed to Diddy’s record label, in a suit filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan, accused him of plying her with drugs, beating her, and forcing her to have sex with a succession of male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters.
The suit added that in 2018, near the end of their relationship, Diddy forced his way into her home and raped her.
However, Diddy’s counsel, Ben Brafman said the rapper “vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations”.
He said Cassie had earlier demanded $30 million from his client as a bribe for her not to write a book about their relationship, “which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail”.
He said despite withdrawing her initial threat, Cassie – whose real name is Casandra Ventura – has “resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday”.
However, a never-seen-before footage has shown the rapper beating his ex-girlfriend in a hotel.
The graphic video, obtained and published by CNN, seems to confirm some details alleged in Ventura’s November lawsuit against Combs. According to CNN, the footage was filmed on March 5, 2016, at a now-shuttered InterContinental hotel in Los Angeles.
The tape appears to show Ventura, a singer who performs under the name Cassie, walking down a hallway toward elevators, and Combs running after her in a towel. He throws her to the ground, repeatedly kicks her, and then attempts to drag her down the hallway, presumably back to their room, though she frees herself. Later, he appears to throw a vase at Ventura.
Meanwhile, reps for Diddy have not yet responded as of the time of filing this report.
