In a historic feat, Manchester City secured their fourth consecutive Premier League title by defeating West Ham 3-1.

Phil Foden’s brace in the early stages of the game put City in control, although Mohammed Kudus’s spectacular overhead kick offered a moment of brilliance for West Ham.

Rodri’s goal just before the hour mark secured Manchester City’s two-goal advantage, easing any nerves as they coasted to victory.

Arsenal, hoping for a miracle to thwart City’s coronation, knew that even a win against Everton wouldn’t suffice if City triumphed.

Despite Arsenal’s 2-1 comeback victory against Everton, they settled for second place, extending their title drought.

Manchester City’s achievement of six titles in seven years, including four consecutive top-flight titles, cements their place in history, surpassing legendary teams like Liverpool and Manchester United.

Reflecting on the historic win, Phil Foden expressed the team’s elation, emphasising the significance of their accomplishment and the joy of sharing it with fans.

On the final day of the Premier League season, Luton’s relegation was confirmed with a 4-2 loss to Fulham at home.

They will be joined by Burnley and Sheffield United in the Championship next season.

Tottenham secured fifth place and a spot in next season’s Europa League with a 3-0 victory over relegated Sheffield United while Chelsea sealed sixth place with a 2-1 win against Bournemouth.

Newcastle’s 4-2 victory at Brentford condemned Manchester United to an eighth-place finish, their lowest since 1990.

Erik ten Hag’s United defeated Brighton 2-0 in Roberto De Zerbi’s final game in charge of the south coast club, but it was not enough to salvage their disappointing league season.

Foden, 23, has had a standout season for City, adding to his impressive goal tally with 27 goals in all competitions on Sunday, along with 11 assists.

He wasted no time in opening the scoring with a powerful left-footed shot from outside the penalty area, calming the nerves of the home fans just 79 seconds into the game. His second goal came in the 18th minute after an assist from Jeremy Doku.

With City seemingly in control, news arrived that Everton had taken the lead against Arsenal, setting up an unlikely scenario for Mikel Arteta’s side to snatch the title.

However, the dynamics shifted when Takehiro Tomiyasu equalized for Arsenal at the Emirates, followed by Kudus pulling one back for West Ham.

Despite the brief resurgence in the title race, City remained composed, especially after Rodri extended their lead in the 59th minute.

Meanwhile, Arsenal recovered from conceding to secure a 2-1 victory, with Kai Havertz sealing the win in the 89th minute.
