A man was critically injured after being stabbed on a train at Beckenham Junction yesterday afternoon. Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to step forward, as no arrests have been made yet.

Images depict the suspect walking through the streets of London yesterday, donning a mask and wielding a large blade.

Transport for London (TfL) later confirmed the closure of Kennington underground station due to a ‘customer incident,’ amidst social media claims of a ‘stabbing’.

There is no indication that the incidents in Kennington and Beckenham are connected.

Footage from the initial incident depicts an assailant atop a man with a large knife on a train bound for Beckenham Junction.

A passenger can be heard screaming ‘f****** stop it now’ before contacting the police to report the incident.

The witness then reports, “I’m on the train to Beckenham Junction, and this man is stabbing someone on the train.

The British Transport Police issued a statement saying, “Officers are conducting extensive inquiries to locate the suspect involved in a stabbing at Beckenham Junction.

“They further stated, “Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious injury incident at Beckenham Junction today.”
“At around 3:56 p.m. today (March 27)), we received reports of two men fighting while boarding a train at Shortlands railway station. A man sustained serious injuries consistent with being stabbed.

“Officers, along with colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service and the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene, and the victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
“A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service stated, “We were called today (Wednesday) at 3:58 pm to reports of an incident at Beckenham Junction Station.
“We dispatched resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer, and London’s air ambulance.
“We provided treatment to a man at the scene before transporting him to a London major trauma center.”
This happened prior to TfL confirming the closure of Kennington underground station due to a ‘customer incident’. An individual on social media platform X reported that the train halted at Kennington before passengers were instructed to disembark.
