Kemi Badenoch, a Nigerian-born UK parliamentarian running for Prime Minister of the European country, has criticized other Nigerian politicians.
She said that she chose to identify with the UK because she can feel free there, and in Nigeria, she cannot.
She said; “I grew up in Nigeria and saw first-hand what happens when politicians are in it for themselves. They use public money as their private piggy bank and steal from the earth. They promise the earth but instead pollute the air and caused poverty for innocent people.
Being Prime Minister is an ambitious endeavour, but I am ambitious. I chose to become a Conservative MP and chose this country because it allows me to be the person I want to be.”
The MP for Saffron Walden, Badenoch, resigned with four of her colleagues last Wednesday in response to the scandal-ridden administration of Boris Johnson.
These roles were given to her by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the minister for equalities in order to keep a level playing field.
Badenoch is in the running for a Prime Minister position.
