The Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday that at least 37,084 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israel’s ongoing offensive since last October. Additionally, 84,494 others have been injured in the attacks.
The ministry’s statement highlighted that the Israeli occupation had perpetrated eight massacres against families in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours alone, resulting in 283 fatalities and 814 injuries.
Furthermore, the death toll from the Israeli occupation’s massacre in Nuseirat camp on Saturday has risen to 274 deaths and 698 injuries, including critical cases.
The Israeli military announced on Saturday that it had rescued four hostages during a deadly operation targeting Palestinians in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza Strip.
“Several victims remain trapped under rubble and on the streets, inaccessible to ambulance and civil defence teams,” the statement added.
Despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire, Israel has persisted with its aggressive campaign in Gaza since a Hamas attack on October 7th.
Eight months into the conflict, large parts of Gaza lie in ruins under a severe blockade, depriving residents of essential supplies like food, water, and medicine.
Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, with a recent ruling demanding an immediate halt to its operations in the southern city of Rafah, where over a million Palestinians sought refuge before it was besieged on May 6th.
