Thursday, a collision between a truck and a bus occurred on a busy road in southwestern Bolivia, resulting in the death of at least 14 people and injuring two others.
Local police official Julio Larrea stated that among the deceased were nine women, four men, and a child.
The truck, which was loaded with salt, had veered across the road and collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction.
The accident occurred on a road connecting the Andean towns of Potosi and Oruro.
Another local police official, Adet Cabrera, reported that excessive speed, lane encroachment, and a lack of caution were the main causes of the accident.
The driver of the truck survived the collision and was taken to a private clinic under police guard. The bus was carrying 15 people, including the surviving driver.
