Gunmen killed seven workers in Pakistan’s Balochistan province late Saturday, police reported. Armed attackers stormed a residence housing laborers from Punjab and opened fire with automatic weapons, leaving one injured.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Balochistan has recently seen increased violence, with separatist militants launching widespread attacks in August, targeting police stations, railways, and highways, leading to security force retaliation. More than 70 people, including Punjab residents, were killed.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for some of the August attacks, accusing the central government of exploiting the province’s gas and mineral resources while seeking independence and the removal of Chinese interests.
