On Tuesday, a fire broke out at Copenhagen’s Old Stock Exchange, a renowned landmark in the Danish capital.
The blaze engulfed the building’s spire, causing it to collapse onto the roof. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
Live footage from local media depicted individuals carrying sizable paintings away from the structure in effort to salvage them from the flames.
The historic building, characterized by its spire shaped like the tails of four intertwined dragons, was undergoing renovation at the time of the fire.
The Dutch Renaissance-style building, no longer housing the Danish stock exchange, now serves as the headquarters for the Danish Chamber of Commerce.
In response to the fire, the Chamber of Commerce expressed dismay, stating, “We are met by a terrible sight.
The Bourse is on fire.” Copenhagen police issued a warning, urging people to refrain from driving in the inner part of the city.
