Nigeria’s Falconets on Friday morning defeated France 1- 0 in their opening game of the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
Falconets, playing in group C, began their opening match with their French counterparts but barely 32 minutes of the first half, the match was suspended due to heavy rainfall.
Flourish Sabastine scored the only goal of the match in the 85th minute with a Mercy Idoko’s pass which fetched them the late winning goal.
Nigeria will face South Korea on Sunday who defeated Canada 2-0 in the second match of the group.
With the result, Falconets is second on the log with a goal difference against South Korea.
