Boat tragedy: Bodies of three missing medical students found

The bodies of three missing medical students in a boat which capsized on Saturday in Calabar, Cross River State Nigeria, have been found.

The recovered students’ bodies were two males and a female.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Gyogon Grimah, made the disclosure on Monday, in Calabar.

Grimah said that from the day the incident happened, “the police have been working day and night to rescue the missing students.”

The state Commissioner of Police praised the locals for their untiring efforts at ensuring the recovery of the bodies of the missing students.

It will be recalled that some medical students while in Calabar for medical students’ games, had gone on boat cruising at Marina Resort on Saturday when the boat capsized.

It was reported that 11 of the students were rescued, while intense search by rescuers led to the recovery of the three students’ bodies on Monday, June 26.
