Atiku, PDP chieftains, supporters protest at INEC headquarters

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; the vice presidential candidate of the party and the governor of Delta State, Dr lfeanyi Okowa; party stakeholders and supporters, on Monday, March 6, 2023 protest the outcome of the presidential election which produced the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Ahmed Tinubu as the winner.

The protest took off at the presidential campaign headquarters of the PDP in Abuja, according to reports.

Other party stakeholders who joined the protest were the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorcha Ayu; PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara; Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal; Chief Raymond
Idokpesi; former Adamawa State governor, Boni Haruna, and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The protesters dressed in black were allegedly kicking against what it termed undemocracy and non-upload of the BVAS for the election.

The protesters carried placards with different inscriptions like “INEC is subverting the will of the people.”

According to the ChannelsTV, the protesters also blocked the INEC’s headquarters’ entrance, while the security personnel of the commission hurriedly shut the gate to forestall vandalism of lNEC’s facilities.
