American rapper star Travis Scott was arrested on Thursday for disorderly intoxication and trespassing after a disturbance on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida, local police reported.
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, 33, was taken into custody by Miami Beach police at around 1:44 a.m. at the city’s marina, according to a police affidavit.
Officers had responded to a call about a fight on a yacht and found Scott on the dock, yelling at passengers.
Although he initially complied with officers’ commands to sit down, he repeatedly stood back up, as noted in the affidavit.
Officers noted “a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant’s breath”, according to their report.
The complainant informed the police that he did not wish to press charges but simply wanted Scott removed from the boat.
“During the lengthy walk from the vessel to the boardwalk, the defendant walked backwards, yelling obscenities at the occupants of the vessel,” officers documented. Reuters was unable to reach Scott’s representatives for comment.
After initially leaving the scene, Scott returned and approached the vessel again. Despite orders to stop from officers in the marina’s parking lot, he ignored them. The affidavit stated that he then began yelling and causing a disturbance, which ultimately led to his arrest.
