Taking place from May 20-31 across various regions of central and southern Morocco, including Ben Guerir, Agadir, Tan-Tan, Akka, and Tifnit, the exercise involves 7,000 armed forces personnel from approximately 20 African countries and NATO member states.

Deemed the largest military exercise in Africa, the event encompasses a wide range of activities, including combined day and night tactical exercises, land, sea, and air operations, special forces drills, airborne operations, and operational planning exercises for Task Force staff.

Originating in 2007 between Morocco and the US, the African Lion exercise has become an annual event, attracting the participation of both European and African military forces.
