Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will play Brazil, Italy and Dominican Republic in group D at the U20 World Cup to be hosted by Argentina between May 20 and June 11, this year.
The two-time finalist were put in the ‘group of death’ following the draws which was held at the House of FIFA in Zurich on Friday. Host Argentina will play in group A alongside Uzbekistan, Guatemala and New Zealand.
In group B are United States, Ecuador, Fiji Islands and Slovakia while African champions Senegal, Japan, Israel and Colombia will slug it out in group C.
Uruguay, Iraq, England and Tunisia will try each other for size in group E and in group F are France, Korea Republic, The Gambia, Honduras.
Argentina is the most successful nation at the FIFA U20 World Cup since the competition was launched in Tunisia in 1977 having won the competition six times.
Nigeria has emerged as runners-up twice, Saudi Arabia in 1989 and in The Netherlands in 2005 and coached by Tunde Disu and Samson Siasia respectively.
