Despite intervention by President Buhari over the crunch of new notes, Nigerians on Friday protested over the scarcity of the new notes and rejection of the old notes of N500 (five hundred naira) land N1000 (one thousand naira) by traders in the area of Lagos and other states of the federation.
The rejection of the old naira notes by traders at the market left a lot people stranded while most stock didn’t get patronage.
Soldiers were trying to send the protesters away as both side are shooting at one another in Lagos.
Also, some residents of Ibafo in Obafemi Owode area of Ogun State also blocked the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway at Ibafo bus stop to protest the scarcity of the new Naira notes.
The protesters blocked both sides of the Expressway preventing vehicles to go out of Lagos and those coming in.
