In the 84th minute Esther Onyenezide’s goal was enough for Falconets of Nigeria to qualify for quarterfinals stage of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
With a game at hand, Chris Danjuma side have booked a place in the last of the competition with a victory over France and South Korea in the first two games.
Falconets will now face Canada in their last group game on Wednesday night.
Speaking before the competition, Danjuma said they in Costa Rica to win the competition not to participate.
“We have been training hard to emerge the champion of this competition because we cannot settle for anything but the trophy this year.”
