The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has approved a 10% increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N165 per litre to N179 per litre. It’ll be effective today Tuesday, 19th July 2022.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) directed all petrol marketers to implement the new petrol prices, effective today. This came as NNPC equally increased the cost of fuel from the depots, from N148.17 to N167 per litre.
Fuel scarcity returned weeks after it was seen before and fuel retailers were adopting different price bands to force unofficial deregulation attempts.
Many filling stations in Lagos have started selling at different prices. Some filling stations have changed the price on their meter to reflect the value they are selling while others have left theirs as a placeholder.
For instance, the Mobil filling station at Agidingbi sold a litre of petrol at N170 per litre on Friday. The price was evidently displayed on the meter that day.
The development was also the same at Enyo filling station at Chisco bus stop, in Lekki, which now sells for N170 per litre, Eterna filling station at Jankade bus stop, Lekki sells at N180 per litre and Mobil Filling station, by Osapa London, Lekki now sells at N170 per litre.
