AC Milan footballer, Tiemoue Bakayoko was stopped by police in Italy at gunpoint. It turns out that it was a case of mistaken identity.
The Chelsea midfielder who was loaned to AC Milan last season was reportedly pulled over by the police in Milan.
A video shared online captured a terrifying moment where a policeman pushed a startled footballer, who made 14 appearances for the triumphant Rossoneri last season, up against a police car.
Without warning, a cop then reached into Bakayoko’s pockets and pulled out the player’s wallet. In the next second, two other armed cops aimed their guns toward the player’s car.
When the police discovered that they had the wrong person, they quickly brought their guns down and consoled the midfielder with a gentle pat on the back.
The 27-year-old, who signed for Chelsea in 2017 and was sold to Monaco three years earlier for £40 million, arrived at Stamford Bridge.
For his first year, he made 43 appearances across all competitions but has not played for Chelsea since the 2017-18 season. After that, he spent loan spells with AC Milan, Monaco, Napoli and have won the Serie A title with AC Milan last season.
Some French media outlets reported on Sunday that a deal has been reached for Bakayoko to join Ligue 1 side Marseille after several other clubs were chasing his signature.
