You can’t force me out, says Boris Johnson

Seven ministers of embattled Boris Johnson including two Cabinet members on Thursday morning quit office before 9am.

The Prime Minister last night ignored calls for him to go, warning Tory rebels they will have to “dip their hands in blood” if they want to force him out.

More than 50 Tory MPs have so far walked out as they urged Boris to quit in the wake of the Chris Pincher groping storm.

The floodgates continued to unleash today as Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis told the PM he “cannot sacrifice his personal integrity to defend things as they stand now”, quoted by The Sun.

Junior Treasury minister Helen Whately and Security minister Damian Hinds followed moments after, with Mr Hinds insisting “we must have a change of leadership”.

Science and Innovation minister George Freeman then vowed “enough is enough” adding “this can’t go on”.

As Mr Johnson dug in a key ally warned last night: “If the party wants to overthrow the elected will of the people, they have to dip their hands in blood.”

It came just hours after the PM dramatically fired Cabinet big beast Michael Gove, who was branded a “snake”.

However, one MP said the Prime Minister had “lost his mind”.

Johnson fired “snake” Gove last night and refused to quit, digging in at Number 10 despite dozens of Government ministers resigning.

The battered PM sacked the Levelling UP Secretary for disloyalty after he had briefed the press that he had told Mr Johnson to go while “trying to dishonourably stay in post”.

A source said: “You can’t have a snake who is not with you on any of the big arguments who then gleefully tells the press the leader has to go. And it’s not the first time he’s been treacherous, appalling and disloyal.

“This is something Boris should have done years ago.”
