Former Vice President and the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, was on Saturday night declared the winner of the party’s presidential ticket at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Atiku will be the PDP party’s flag bearer in the 2023 Presidential election recording a total number of 371 votes ahead of his closest rival, Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike who recorded 237 votes.
Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen withdrew at a late hour to reduce the contender to 12 aspirants.
The Former Senate President Bukola Saraki came third with 70 votes, Ayodele Fayose and Dele Momodu did not record any votes.
